"I was just around a great group of people who all saw the vision and potential."The Spartans are embarking on a new era under the guidance of highly respected Head Coach Dante Fowler Sr., taking over for the legendary Coach Cory Moore, who is now a full-time scout with the Rams. Holloway spoke about this transition: "With Coach Fowler taking over, it's really nothing to us. Nothing changed about the program; it's still the same as if Coach Moore is here or isn't. The team has been working very hard. I feel like this year everyone is working as hard as they can and doing what it takes to be the best version of themselves."For his senior season, Holloway has clear objectives for his team and the younger players. "Right now, our goal as upperclassmen is to get the young guys prepared for high school classwork, etc., getting them to be developed," he stated. "Right now, I'm super proud of the young guys that have come along; they are just grinding and learning, which I'm really impressed with. Our goal as a team is to win a state championship, maintain the standard at Lakewood. "This year, we have five linemen that have varsity experience coming back: three starters and two upcoming sophomores who played big roles for us," he explained. "Just seeing them motivates me because I was in their shoes. Just seeing them grind and learn from our offensive line coach, Jermaine Ledbetter, is great."Looking to his future, Holloway is excited about his collegiate opportunities. "What I look for in a program is a coach and players that are close with God," he detailed. "I'm looking for an offensive line coach that believes in me, willing to develop me not just as a football player but as a son, brother, dad, etc. I'm also looking for a program that just wants to get better. Academically, I can adjust to that, but I'm majoring in journalism in college." His decision to graduate early is a strategic move: "What motivated my decision on that is that I get to learn early, get a head start on the college lifestyle so when I get there, I won't be trying to adjust. Just learning, really, and offensive line coaches get really excited when I tell them that, and I'm at an advantage over the other freshmen that enroll in the summer."While many top recruits feel college-ready, Holloway remains grounded. "Well, everyone has things they need to work on. Everyone has something they want to get better at," he said. "I would want to get better at everything, really. Just getting one percent better every day is my goal, so I really can't answer this question. I don't feel college ready right now; there are still things I have to learn."Holloway promises to bring intensity to the field. "The impact I'm going to make on the field is, I'm a dog. I will take you 20+ yards down the field, maul you every play. In practice, I'm not a guy teammates like to practice with, but off the field, I will love and care for my teammates. I just get overly competitive at times," he admitted. "Off the field, my goal for the first year is making the biggest impact I can on the team and coaches."Beyond the gridiron, Holloway revealed a passion for recreational activities. "Well, I like to golf, play tennis," he shared. "I love being an impact on people, just a grinder, a fun person to be around."&nbsp; The offensive line talent in Pinellas County doesn't stop with Holloway. Right behind him at #3 is another Lakewood Spartan, the imposing Chancellor Campbell. At 6'8", 303 lbs, Campbell is a University of Florida commit who commanded offers from collegiate heavyweights like Ohio State University and The University of Miami, all while maintaining an impressive 3.7 GPA. As both a dominant running back and an elite defensive back, Starke has epitomized excellence on the field, rushing for over 1,000 yards and tallying six interceptions while leading his team to an impressive 8-2 record. &nbsp;For Starke, success stems from his team-first mentality and unwavering commitment to excellence. “It feels incredibly rewarding to be recognized as a top player in the county,” Starke shared. “I play both sides of the ball because I’m a team-first player and do what the team needs to succeed.” A self-proclaimed creature of habit, Starke credits his consistent game-day routine—starting with Tropical Smoothie before games and Miller’s Ale House after—for helping him stay focused. &nbsp;Seminole High’s success also stemmed from the efforts of key players like senior Collin Cervoni, who contributed over 16 total touchdowns, two interceptions, and served as a game-changer on both sides of the ball. On defense, sophomore Brady Tunison anchored the unit with a county-leading number of tackles, exemplifying the grit and determination that defined the team’s season. “We’re a senior-led team and have been together since freshman year, so our team chemistry was unmatched,” Starke explained. &nbsp;Reflecting on his journey, Starke recounted starting as an undersized cornerback as a sophomore under the guidance of Coach Sanchez, a pivotal moment that ignited his rise. “One lesson I learned is to always believe in yourself,” he said. Sean Cuono’s journey from a leading receiver at Saint Petersburg Catholic to Pinellas County's top running back has been nothing short of remarkable. Now playing at Clearwater Central Catholic and committed to Indiana University, Cuono' s blend of talent, perseverance, and dedication has solidified his status as a premier high school running back.**A Journey of Progress and Excellence**Sean's high school career began at Saint Petersburg Catholic, where he quickly made a name for himself as a leading receiver and running back during his freshman year. This initial success set the stage for his transition to Calvary Christian in his sophomore year, a pivotal move that allowed him to showcase his prowess as a running back. In this new role, Sean’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, amassing 1786 rushing yards and recording a standout 200-yard game against Lakewood in the playoffs. His training and preparation have played pivotal roles in his success. Cuono credits his trainers, Art McCoy who is known in the bay area for his workouts with the youth and Bay Area Sports Performance, for their continuous support and rigorous training since the 6th grade. He also emphasizes the significant impact of his offensive line, stating, “My O-line is the biggest also.”**Thriving in a New Environment**Transitioning to Clearwater Central Catholic, where he now plays alongside standout players like Jershaun Newton and running back Nasir Hutchinson, Sean has seamlessly adapted to his new team. Despite the change in environment, his approach to the season remains unwavering. “I haven’t changed my approach to the season at all. It is still the same. I want to be able to do as much as I can for my team and get a championship,” he asserts. This steadfast determination is a testament to his commitment to excellence and teamwork.**The Edge: Vision and Toughness**When asked about what sets him apart from other running backs, Cuono points to his vision and toughness. These attributes have undoubtedly contributed to his ability to read defenses and make decisive, impactful plays. His sophomore season once again was a prime example, where he amassed 1786 rushing yards, including a standout 200-yard game against Lakewood. I feel like they will be able to rebuild Indiana and make them a top team in college football,” Cuono explains. He also believes that players should take their time with their commitments, ensuring they make the best decision for their future**Looking Ahead**As Sean Cuono prepares for his final high school season at Clearwater Central Catholic, his focus remains on helping his team achieve success and securing a championship. He has came to the right place as Coach Chris Harvey has led his Maruders to consective state runner up titles and looks primed for their third appearance and first state championship in Pinellas County history. His combination of talent, toughness, and vision, along with his commitment to Indiana, makes him a standout athlete and a true leader on and off the field.
