Q& A w/ Nijaun Harris
1.What aspects of your game do you attribute to your high-scoring performances, and how do you approach each game ?
Nijaun: "I approach each game with the same mindset to go out in kill mode on both offense and defense. My high scoring performances come from my ability to score at all 3 levels and to get my teammates involved and finding the open man"
2.As both a guard and forward, how do you balance your roles on the court, and which position do you find most challenging or rewarding?
Nijaun: "Playing against bigger defenders I can use my speed and strength to score inside.
Then playing the guard position I can use my strength to keep smaller defenders off of me to get to my spots on the court."
3.Being a standout player, how do you inspire and motivate your teammates to perform at their best, both on and off the court?
Nijaun: "My ability to do what I do and how I carry myself helps motivate my teammates. On the court I think my scoring and energy on both ends of the floor helps my teammates get in the better mode of winning."
4.What are your personal and team goals for this season, and how do you envision your basketball journey evolving in the coming years?
Nijaun: "Us as a team our goal is 20 wins and a district championship but I want to make it all the way to Lakeland. The hard work we put in as a team we can make it there. I want to play in the nba so hard work and dedication will get me there."
5.Outside of basketball, what are your hobbies or interests, and how do you manage to balance your academics with your passion for the game?
Nijaun: "Off the court I love to hangout with family and friends and academically I stay focused on my school work and make sure to get it done but I will always have that strive for basketball any time it comes around me"
