Jeff Jones: Leading St. Pete Devils to New Heights as our #1 athlete
Jeff Jones, the dynamic senior quarterback for the St. Pete Devils, has been a cornerstone of his team’s success over the past few seasons. Two seasons ago, he was named the Pinellas High School Media Group Offensive Player of the Year. Last season, he continued to impress, rushing for over 2000 yards, passing for over 800 yards, and even returning a kickoff for a touchdown. With a career total of over 3500 rushing yards and 2000 passing yards, Jones is undeniably the best player in St. Pete High School history.
Despite being undersized and often underrated, Jones's talent and determination have set him apart. Reflecting on his achievements, he credits his versatility and hard work for his success. "I’ve always focused on being the best I can be, whether it's running or passing. Being considered undersized has only fueled my drive to prove myself on the field," he shared.
This season, the St. Pete Devils are armed with more weapons at receiver, and Jones is ready to make the most of this enhanced lineup. "Having more options at receiver is exciting. It allows us to diversify our offense and keep defenses guessing. My goal is to use my dual-threat abilities to maximize our offensive potential," Jones explained.
Last season, Jones led his team to an impressive 8-3 record, showcasing his leadership and playmaking skills. One of the highlights was his remarkable 100-yard kickoff return, a testament to his athleticism and game-changing ability. Looking ahead, Jones has set ambitious personal and team goals for his senior year. "I want to continue building on last year’s success. Our aim is to go further, and I’m committed to doing everything I can to lead this team to victory," he stated.
Jeff Jones’s journey is a testament to his hard work, resilience, and exceptional talent. As he leads the St. Pete Devils into another promising season, the entire community will be watching, eager to see what this outstanding athlete will achieve next.
