1st Team
Nijaun Harris, G/F Lakeside Christian
Points per game: 23.4
Rebounds per game: 6.9
Assists per game: 2.4
Steals per game: 1.6
Blocks per game: 1.6
Probably the most elite 8th grader to come out of Pinellas County , Harris is a 6'3, 215 lbs freight train who can play inside and outside. Named the Private School Player Of The Year for the county Harris only committed 17 turnovers throughout the year while being the main ball handler.
Ace Taylor, G/F Calvary
Points per game: 21.9
Rebounds per game: 7.2
Assists per game: 4.4
Steals per game: 1.7
Blocks per game: 0.9
A 6'6 guard who can shoot and run, senior Ace Taylor was a key piece to Calvary's success as he has improved his game consistently and played the roles needed. With 5 double doubles on the season and an improved passing game Taylor eclipsed the 1,000 point mark this season and led the district champion Calvary Christian Warriors to a 16-11 record.
Jacob Daniels, Point Guard , Gibbs
Points per game: 18.4
Rebounds per game: 3.0
Assists per game: 4.6
Steals per game: 2.3
One of the counties top athletes , junior point guard Jacob Daniels is a pure scorer who we expect to be highly recruited not only on the court next year but also on the football field. The spark he provides on the field for the Gibbs Gladiators takes a notch up when he steps on the court as he is no doubt the leader of the new state champions. His numbers have continuosly improved and we expect the team to have another chance at a run next year with him and Delancey leading the charge.
Nick Berry PF, Saint Pete Catholic
Points per game: 21.9
Rebounds per game: 9.1
Assists per game: 1.2
Steals per game: 1
Blocks per game: 0.8
The most improved player outside of Will Murphree of Indian Rocks , senior Nick Berry despite the teams record consistently showed passion which transitioned into numbers. Berry averaged just 10.9 points per game last year along with 7 rebounds and despite him being of a slimmer frame the 6'4 Berry's play down low this season warranted his entry into the 1st team.
Isaiah Medina Center, Gibbs
Points per game: 9.6
Rebounds per game: 6.8
Assists per game: 0.3
Steals per game: 0.5
Blocks per game: 1.3
When we decided on Isaiah Medina for the center position it was based not only on the fact that he is the only true center in the county but based on what he has provided for Gibbs on top of his potential. A 7'0 prospect with an offer from Georgia Southern on the table so far, Medina's impact grew slowly but surely over the season as he finished the season with multiple double doubles and a huge game against Gateway to lead Gibbs to the state championship game.
